HI! I made a ruleset for myself of a bacc in the sims 4 and I've been having such a fun time playing it I thought this would be great for sims 2. It is not your typical bacc think random legacy town wide bacc. Basically jobs are earned from the roll of a dice and taxes go to the town treasury which supply the town with community lots (not including ones your sims start for themselves)
I will be playing each family for a week and every season we roll the die to determine what is now open.. Nothing is ever actually unlocked, everything is based on those rolls.
Lets meet our first family: The Spring Family.
Rocky & Charles had planned to move away from everything they knew after their son graduated college. That all went to shit when their son dropped out. Now they have their adult son, Carter living with them in this empty nothing town. They hope he is able to get a job because they hadn't planned on financing him during their retirement.
They land in winter because my dice hate me. Round 1 (Winter) - 29. All I ever hear is what about the planet, what about the moon.. WHAT ABOUT THE OCEAN (+1 oceanography)
"Finally we made it, I feel like we've been walking for hours."
"You could have always stayed back home. There was no need for you to drop out of school and follow us here."
"How LONG are you going to hang that over my head mom?
The Springs had been walking the streets for hours after the boat dropped them off in this small no nothing town.
It was dead of winter here in this town but the weather wasn't so bad. He was thankful his parents decided to move to a island.
With it being a small island fishing town Carter figured there had to be something in the paper for that. He found it in no time and went down to the pier to apply. Thankfully he got it. Maybe if he could pull his weight he wouldn't be such a disappointment to his parents.
Rocky makes some grilled cheese sandwiches for her family after their long journey. She was thankful this house came with a fully stocked fridge.
"OH my favorite! Grilled cheese with tomato soup!"
"Yes I'm aware, I raised you."
After a quick lunch Rocky and her Husband go to enjoy a bit of tv. Elders don't work in my bacc so they don't have much to do and until their is a retirement home they just take up space.
With a job and food in his belly, Carter starts on the woodworking table. If he had it his way he would sell the things he made with his hands.
The next morning Rocky thinks about her sons love life or lack there of. She knew there wasn't many choices yet but from what she heard they weren't the only one who were going to be settling down here.
"When are you going to settle down and give me grandbabies?"
"Uh.. Mom we've been here for one day. Your moving kind of fast are you not?"
Rocky starts to go on a rant but luck Carter his alarm went off for his first day of work.
"See ya later mom!" He races out the house before Rocky can get a word in.
Elders may not be able to get a job but they can open businesses. I get Charles to start making wicker baskets.
The elderly couple talks over which business they want to open first. They decide on a thrift store. Nothing like selling junk by the seaside. With this, the family moves over to Fall
Round 1 (Fall) - 4. Adoption has gone through, get your child.
Unfortunately an Adoption agency hasn't been opened yet so no children can be adopted yet but when they do decide to open one for 10k they have one available child to adopt.
With the family knowing what business they want to open, Rocky helps her husband make things for the thrift store.
Carter is doing fantastic at his job and earns a promotion on his first day.
With him finally taking his life serious him and his mom start getting along better.
Another day and another promotion for Carter. He is really bringing in some money for his family and his parents think they will soon be able to afford their store. Carter is happy to help anyway she can
Until they were able to buy though Rocky settled for making more things to sell.
I just love them. Look at how cute they are 🥰.
When you are trying to get ready for work but your parents decide the bathroom is the perfect place to have a full blown conversation.
I stopped reading these years ago.. Lets go with 'Tell the truth"
It resulted in a promotion
Friday and another promotion. The family now has 2k in the household funds and they only need about 600 more to open the thrift store.
By Saturday night the family FINALLY had their business Shit by the Seaside. It makes it to level 1 and they make 2k in profit.
We end our week with this family just as it turns to spring. We are moving on to the second family that's ship has just arrived.
