Kingdom Come - Year 101c

Now we move on to the Woods family. They are a slave settlers group that has come over here with their king. 

Life is pretty regular for the Woods to start off. There is some father/son bonding time in front of the house. Tommy just wanted a better life for his family, back home in Simerica all of them lived in a small cramped 2 bedroom apartment. This was at least a bit better, land and 3 bedrooms. Still only one bathroom though. 

Tommy, the dutiful husband, always made time for his wife. 

But he never slacked on his other duties around he house like the garden. The family didn't have a lot of money and Tommy was only able to get a job in the Paranormal career entry level. They wouldn't make nearly enough for food. 

The next morning Megan had Ruby out for her daily walk when Ruby pointed in the direction of a stranger. Megan looks up to see the most gorgeous man she has ever seen. She quickly puts Ruby down not wanting this beautiful man to think she was already with child. 

Megan: Hi! Can I help you with something? Are you looking to buy some plates?

Rav: Uh no, I just heard there was some new settlers in town and I thought I would come check it out.

Megan: Oh you are a raider.. 

Rav: Yuppp

Megan: Kind of far from home aint ya?

Rav: That I am.

The two continue to talk, mostly Megan trying to engage in conversation. The boy, Rav, didn't seem to care all that much for it but he stuck around nonetheless. 

Much later in the night Julie figures out why she has been so tired lately. She was expecting again. She was nervous as her last pregnancy was hard enough on her. 

It became a common thing for Rav to come around though he still was not much of a talker. 

Like most girls her age, Megan was in charge of the household to an extent. She felt as though it was bs as all she did was clean and tend to the children. It seemed she did the chores no one else wanted to do though the more she thought about it... If her mom had been doing it since her age no wonder she was happy to pass the torch on. 

Her parents didn't want to say anything but if they didn't know better they would think that noble raider had a crush on their daughter. He often called her or came to hang out.

Tommy: Gah damn technology. 

(I swear she showers regularally lol)

Just as Tommy had sat down to do some sewing to sell at the market his wife starts screaming from the hall.

Tommy rushes over to see his wife in labor. There wasn't much he could do to help and with the lack of a midwife he stood idlily by. 

His wife gives him another little girl but he didn't mind. He loved his girls.

The happiness faded though when Julie dropped to her knees. Before anyone knew what was happening Julie had died. 

Tommy blamed himself for the death of his wife. If it wasn't for him pushing for another boy they would have never gotten pregnant again and he would still have the love of his life. 

He tried to stay the dutiful father but the days were long and hard on him. 

Thankfully his kids really stepped up to bat. Douglas worked extra hard everyday and his income really helped the family. 

Megan was now the sole one responsible for the little ones. It was soon little Ruby's birthday. She had changed a lot since their mother had died but Megan hoped time healed all wounds.
